Scholarship

We're proud to offer the Rev. Leslie G. McKoy Scholarship, a living tribute to one of CARD's late founders, renowned for his profound dedication to fostering the educational growth of young minds.

Each year, in a testament to Reverend McKoy's passion and legacy, this scholarship is awarded to promising graduating high school students who have earned a place at an accredited college.

Application Eligibility

In keeping with its commitment to educational excellence, Christian Action for Renewal & Development provides academic scholarships to deserving students who best fulfill criteria laid out in the scholarship application guidelines.

To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must be a graduating high school senior who has gained admission and plans to attend an accredited college as a first-year student.

Additional criteria are:

• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• An official high school transcript.
• A two-page typed essay.  The essay should outline the applicant's educational goals and indicate how the Christian faith will play a role in achieving those goals.
• An interview with the Scholarship Committee might be deemed necessary.
• A letter of recommendation from a teacher.
• A letter of recommendation from the pastor of the church that the applicant attends.  The letter should certify membership as well as church involvement; where there is no resident pastor, the letter should be from the Vice President of the Board of Elders or a senior church leader.
